INFORMATION NOTICE: 18th World Scientific Congress. Theme: ‘Modern Science: Theory and Practice.’
On 22 November 2024, the 18th World Scientific Congress was held in St. Petersburg. Topic: ‘Modern Science: Theory and Practice.’
An important outcome of the meeting was the decision to improve the training of scientific personnel within the framework of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes at MUFO. The crucial role and responsibility of the scientific supervisor in the training of young scientists was emphasised, which will be the key to improving the quality of education and research.
Over the 25 years of MUFO’s existence, the university has trained over 2,500 doctors of philosophy who have made a significant contribution to the development of science and education. Speaking at the Congress, MUFO President Professor Santi P. Jayasekera noted that the training of scientific personnel is a key area of the University’s work, emphasising the need to introduce modern teaching and research methods. The Congress brought together scientists, practitioners and students, facilitating the exchange of experiences and ideas and strengthening international cooperation in the scientific field.
During the 18th International Scientific Congress, hundreds of scientists from various fields presented their research, each of which will contribute to a rich collection of scientific discoveries spanning various disciplines. Each article represents a scientific attempt to combine theoretical ideas with practical applications covering such diverse fields as artificial intelligence, renewable energy sources, molecular biology, social sciences and climate science. Thanks to careful expert evaluation, these materials are aimed not only at developing the fields they represent, but also at a broader understanding of science as an integrative, problem-solving discipline.
An important event of the Congress was the discussion of new approaches to interdisciplinary research, which emphasises the need for cooperation between different scientific fields. Participants noted that only through joint efforts can breakthroughs be achieved in challenges such as climate change, sustainable development and technological innovation. In parallel with the plenary sessions, specialised sections were held, where leading experts shared their experiences and proposed the latest methods for solving pressing problems.
